Centtrip had an existing web portal to enable users to load their accounts and exchange currency. They needed to extend that reach to a mobile app that reflected their brand in order to make it easier for users to utilise and access their system whilst travelling.

Red C worked alongside Centtrip’s in-house developers to build native iOS and Android apps using best practice security implementation & liaising with Centtrip’s branding partner to ensure the look and feel of the app matched their web and offline offers.

We wire-framed each screen and tested an interactive prototype to gather feedback before committing to development, ensuring we could provide the optimal solution.

NEW DESIGN

Centtrip understood their customers desire for mobility and turned their attention towards developing a mobile app. Appoly partnered with Centtrip to help replace their outdated system with new technology and a new design that better reflected their brand. Red C worked alongside Centtrip’s in-house developers on the app’s API and advised them how to implement their API in the most secure and reliable way.

FEATURES

The app assists Centtrip users in managing multiple currencies across their Centtrip cards and account. Importantly, the app was built natively to increase security, meaning that users can log in with Touch ID. Also, users are able to view their account transactions, top-up their card or account and buy and sell up to 14 different currencies within the app.

Problem

Cafe2U’s mobile delivery service lacked visibility, making it difficult for customers to track and observe their drivers location and progress. Similarly, despite the popularity of their loyalty scheme, Cafe2U wanted to digitise their processes; offering a superior customer experience by moving away from pre-paid cards and their paper-based loyalty card scheme.

Our Solution

Push notifications to alert customers that their driver is ‘on the way’ or ‘outside’, as well as driver tracking via the Cafe2U mobile app, provides much-needed visibility to customers. Each customer has a specific QR code which the driver can scan to process pre-purchased beverages and collect stamps, as well as a digital loyalty card ensuring that there is less for the customer to worry about.

For Cafe2U, it was essential that the sense of community and interaction between drivers, customers and colleagues who congregate for a coffee break remained the fundamental part of the customer experience. We worked closely with the Cafe2U team to ensure that the system did not become too automated and that the strong sense of community remained the main element of the customer experience alongside offering greater visibility and efficiency for customers.

Problem

After updating their website in 2019, PSC Support decided to extend their digital capabilities further by developing an app for their members/supporters to assist them with living with PSC.

Solution

The purpose of the app is to provide various support, monitoring and feedback tools for patients with PSC; to help them in coping with the condition on a day-to-day basis. A secondary element is to aid PSC Support in vital data capture, analysis and insights to be used in research studies.

ENHANCING VISIBILITY

PSC Support wanted a digital and intuitive way to capture and record PSC symptoms such as pain and itching. The aspirations for the app were to allow patients to record symptoms and early warning signs in the app to present to their consultant during appointments; providing greater visibility for the doctor and patient.

COLLABORATION

Appoly worked collaboratively with the PSC Support team; kicking off the process by brainstorming and mapping out various user journeys.

The challenge Appoly faced was how to make it as intuitive as possible as there were lots of data collection forms that needed to be incorporated as well as the aim of including visual reporting. We even incorporated a “body” image so users can tap on various parts of the body to record where the symptoms are.

Problem

As part of the HIPPO service offering, they are the contracted waste providers for a number of bedrooms, kitchen,  bathroom, design and fitting firms.

Processed by a web layer that interfaced with the internal OS along with providing real-time dashboards to access the data that was being processed. The Business Logic layer dictated any escalation procedures to alert office staff of potential issues with orders (meeting SLA requirements).  

The result of the data coming in accurately and quickly created issues for the logistics department to keep up with.  

Drivers App & Portal:  

This resulted in a drivers app and portal micro-service that deals with and organises the incoming data to allow the logistics team to manage drivers, schedules and see the status of collections. 

The application now produces the waste transfer note documentation electronically, reducing the burden on drivers to complete (and lose) the paperwork.  

The latest release takes vehicle management into account. Drivers are required to verify if a vehicle is roadworthy and raise vehicle defects.

Our Solution

Around 5,000 fitters called the HIPPO call centre to book the service they required prior to the app. The average call time would be around 10 minutes and often the information collected was inconsistent and erroneous.  

We devised an application to be used by the 5,000 fitters, allowing clients to book the HIPPO collection services they required. The application contains a fitting schedule in the form of a diary system. 

Problem

The founder of Roebuck felt inspired to create a mobile app that helps everyday users learn and remember vital survival skills following the Coronavirus pandemic that brought the world to a standstill in 2020. After his own experience during a blockade, and the global death rates brought about by the pandemic, the founder realised that it is very important for people to pre-empt dangerous and unexpected challenges and that users can benefit from the knowledge that may prove to be crucial or life-saving in certain unavoidable predicaments. The founder of the Roebuck app required the services of a development agency to bring his niche concept to life and ensure that the knowledge and skills he wanted to offer were easily accessible to all.

The skills and information that is available to users on the Roebuck app range from the basic art of bushcraft, demonstrating how to start fires or build a shelter, to dealing with health emergencies such as bumps, bruises and even giving birth to a baby outside of the hospital. The information is accessible to all users, without the use of technical jargon, offered in small sections with a simple and engaging user interface. Users can test their knowledge once they have completed the module preparing them for unexpected situations that they may encounter.

Our Solution

Users can decide how advanced they’d like to become or how far they’d like to extend their knowledge. Despite there being many apps that offer survival skills, Roebuck is one of the few apps that actually encourages and teaches users how to remember the knowledge they have been presented with. The app is filled with attractive illustrations and visually appealing aesthetics that help users memorise new concepts in a fun and engaging way.

Our Process

DEVELOPMENT

Our developers worked collaboratively with the Roebuck founder and his internal team to ensure we incorporated all of the features and functionality required, offering an optimal user experience and product. We incorporated push notifications to alert users with reminders about new features and new content in the app including reminders to complete their modules. The application is free to all Android users, but users can pay for premium features if they’d like to receive more app content once they have completed the free modules.

Problem

Our client acknowledged that it is becoming far more difficult for patients to book appointments with healthcare professionals due to the increasing pressures, and strain on resources that have overwhelmed the NHS. This is causing an issue for a wide range of age groups who wish to visit healthcare professionals outside of standard surgery hours. In addition, due to the fact that doctor surgeries are unused outside of standard surgery hours, NHS doctors are able to practice privately with the capacity to help those seeking medical advice outside of such times.

Our Solution

The client recognised the correlation between these two factors and wanted to develop a mobile app that would connect those seeking medical advice outside of standard surgery hours with the healthcare professionals that practice privately.

We helped the client develop an iOS app that allows users to specify what kind of healthcare professional they would like to see (for example, a psychologist, a paediatrician, a neurologist etc.) from a dropdown list, and provides users with a list of local clinics where they can book an appointment in the calendar themselves. The app enables the healthcare professionals to be vetted, prompting them to enter their area of expertise and then allowing them to configure their availability.

The Appoly design team created a user journey to cater for the patient and the healthcare professionals. The client decided to build an iOS app initially as this software is compatible with the predominant device used by the target market (iPhone), looking towards a future Android build.

Problem

WPJ Heating found that they were being called out to homes to solve plumbing and heating issues that could have been fixed by the customer themselves, providing that a small degree of technical advice was offered by the engineers.

Our Solution

Thus, WPJ Heating approached Appoly to develop a mobile app that would solve this issue and leverage the power of technology to connect the engineer with the customer in real-time through live video chat functionality, including a flashlight and screenshot abilities.

Appoly designed a prototype app to map out the most efficient user journeys for both the plumber/heating engineer and the customer.

DEVELOPMENT

We initially developed Clipfix on iOS to test the market, considering iPhones and iPads still dominate the market in the UK. Following this, we began working on an Android version of the app to maximise accessibility for WPJ Heating customers.

Problem

Practice Plus approached Appoly in need of a re-design and re-build of their existing Pocket Physio application.

Our Solution

The Pocket Physio solution features both videos and text instructions on pre-operative and post-operative physiotherapy exercises. The app enables you to establish a strong exercise regime before surgery that you can continue post-surgery, helping patients recover as quickly as possible.

COLLABORATION

We were aware that the Pocket Physio app was a useful tool for patients and popular amongst orthopaedic surgery patients. However, the app needed a complete redesign and a re-build with improvements to the functionality, offering a better service to users.

We worked collaboratively with the Care UK team to design and develop the solution, ensuring that we created the best possible user journey so the app is simple and easy-to-use for all patients.
